Five centuries of fair history

The Fiera Millenaria di Gonzaga has its roots in 1490, when the Gonzaga family granted the community the right to hold an annual market. Since then, the fair has continuously evolved, becoming the National Fair of Agriculture and Agri-food and one of the leading events for the primary sector in Italy. It takes place every year in September in the Municipality of Gonzaga, in the province of Mantua, and its name celebrates the longevity of this centuries-old tradition.

An exhibition centre of 120,000 square metres

The Gonzaga exhibition centre covers over 120,000 square metres and hosts more than 200 exhibitors from all over Italy each year, attracting around 35,000 visitors. The pavilions and outdoor areas feature agricultural machinery and equipment, livestock, agri-food products, crafts, floriculture, rural construction, and renewable energy. The event is listed in the official calendar of specialised national fairs, highlighting its importance for the agricultural sector.

La Nuova Millenaria

In recent years, the event has undergone a renewal process under the brand "La Nuova Millenaria. The Fair of always, like never before", which complements the professional focus of the agricultural show with an increasingly rich programme of events, conferences, livestock exhibitions, shows, and activities for the public. The specialised exhibition area thus coexists with the dimension of a grand popular festival.

Mantua's taste and conviviality

Alongside business and technical demonstrations, the fair is also a gastronomic occasion: the refreshment areas offer traditional Mantuan cuisine, street food (with vegan and gluten-free options), bars, and beverage areas distributed throughout the pavilions. For the town of Gonzaga and the entire Bassa Mantovana region, the Millenaria remains the event of the year, capable of combining the seriousness of a professional exhibition with the celebration of a community.
