The summer challenge between the districts of Drena, featuring sports, games, and conviviality
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of the Trentino Alto Garda area, the village of Drena, located in the province of Trento and the Trentino-Alto Adige region, hosts one of its most cherished events every summer: the Torneo dei Rioni. Organized by Pro Loco Drena, the festival aims to bring as many people as possible together through recreational and sporting activities, fostering community bonds.
The village is historically divided into four districts that compete for victory: Drena Alta, Castello, Villa, and Luch. Participation is open to residents, former residents, those domiciled in the area, and their children, in a spirit of healthy local rivalry that renews itself year after year.
The program alternates between sports and traditional games for all ages:
Every evening, the bar and kitchen are open from 7:00 PM, with Sunday opening times starting at lunch. All evenings are accompanied by music, and Sunday is also dedicated to children's entertainment, making the tournament a true village festival for families and enthusiasts alike.
In recent editions, the tournament has taken place in June: in 2024 from June 27th to 30th, and in 2025 on the weekend of June 21st and 22nd. This event, blending sports, folk traditions, and authentic cuisine, stands as a symbol of Drena's identity and the volunteer spirit of the local Pro Loco.
The 2026 edition of the Torneo dei Rioni in Drena does not yet have an official date. The event, historically organized in June by Pro Loco Drena, is expected to feature the usual challenge between the districts of Drena Alta, Castello, Villa, and Luch, with soccer, ski racing, sack racing, tug-of-war, and briscola. The detailed program will be communicated by the organizers.
Drena is located in the province of Trento, in the Alto Garda area. It can be reached by car from the SS45bis del Garda road by taking the turnoff towards the Sarca Valley. The nearest train stations are in Rovereto and Trento, which are connected by bus services.
The tournament is organized by Pro Loco Drena. For dates, district registration, and the updated program, please consult the official Pro Loco Drena channels (website and Instagram profile).
Bar and kitchen are available every evening from 7:00 PM and for lunch on Sundays, with musical accompaniment.
