The festival celebrating the Toritto Almond and cervellata sausage in the Alta Murgia
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Toritto Flavors Festival is the autumn food and wine event held in Toritto, a village in the Alta Murgia area in the province of Bari, in the heart of Puglia. Launched in 2023, the festival has grown rapidly to become one of the most anticipated appointments on the Toritto calendar: a weekend where the town fills with aromas, music, and visitors from across the Bari metropolitan area to rediscover local products and traditions.
At the heart of the festival are two symbolic products. The Toritto Almond, with its local varieties such as the Filippo Cea, is a Slow Food Presidium and a Traditional Agri-food Product, famous for its sweet taste and the quality of its confectionery and pastries. The cervellata is the typical Toritto sausage, a cured meat with an unmistakable flavor linked to centuries of rural history and the tradition of local butchers. Food stalls, show cooking, and guided tastings revolve around these two protagonists.
The festival combines gastronomy with entertainment. In previous editions, the public has enjoyed concerts by nationally recognized artists, historical pageants, medieval costume games, almond pastry workshops, guided tours of the historic center and ancient mills, as well as the traditional Pro Loco social lunch. There is also entertainment for children, inflatables, and street bands that accompany the evenings.
The event takes place in autumn, usually in October, in the Market Area on Via Favaro in Toritto. It is a free-entry event: you only pay for what you taste at the stalls.
The Toritto Flavors Festival is promoted by the Pro Loco Toritto-Quasano APS, with the patronage of the Municipality of Toritto, the Alta Murgia National Park, the GAL Terre di Murgia, and with the support of the Puglia Region, in collaboration with the local butchers' association and regional farms.
The 2026 edition of the Toritto Flavors Festival has not yet been officially scheduled. The event is usually held in autumn, in October, in the Market Area of Toritto, and celebrates the Toritto Almond and cervellata with food stalls, workshops, pageants, and concerts. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced: to find out the updated program, it is recommended to follow the official social media channels of the Pro Loco Toritto-Quasano.
Toritto is located about 30 km southwest of Bari. By car, it can be reached via the SS 96 (direction Altamura) taking the exit for Toritto. By train, it is served by the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, on the Bari-Altamura-Matera line, with a stop at the Toritto station.
