Christmas in the heart of Puglia
The "Christmas in Rutigliano" festival, also known by its "Rutigliano is Magic" branding, is the major Christmas event calendar organized by the Municipality of Rutigliano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, in Puglia. For over a month, from the first days of December until the Epiphany, the historic center and main squares light up with illuminations, music, and activities designed for both adults and children.
A wonderland
The heart of the event is Piazza XX Settembre, where the large Christmas tree is set up and Santa's House comes to life. The calendar traditionally opens in conjunction with the feast of Saint Nicholas, which is deeply felt in the Bari area, and continues until the arrival of the Befana. The historic center becomes a true Christmas village, featuring markets, wooden artisan stalls, tastings of local products, and themed photo spots.
Shows, tradition, and family
The program alternates moments of strong local identity with family entertainment.
