Four days of Southern Italian street food, music, and dance in Settimo Torinese
Every spring, the Parco Alcide De Gasperi in Settimo Torinese, within the Metropolitan City of Turin (Piedmont), transforms into a small Southern village thanks to To Sud – Pizzica and Tarantella. For four days, the atmosphere, scents, and rhythms of the Mezzogiorno reach the Turin metropolitan area, where a large community of Southern origin finds its roots here. The event is curated by the Associazione Calabro Piemontese and offers a gastronomic, musical, and folkloric journey with free admission.
The heart of the event is the Street Food Fest, a journey through the regional cuisines of Puglia, Calabria, and Sicily. At the stalls, you can taste traditional Southern specialties accompanied by craft beer, comfortably seated in an area equipped with tables and chairs. From Apulian bombette to Calabrian 'nduja, from Sicilian arancini to traditional desserts, the festival is an opportunity to rediscover the authentic flavors of Southern tradition.
The musical portion is dedicated to Southern folk dances: the Salento pizzica and the Calabrian tarantella enliven the evenings with live performances, folk groups, and DJ sets. Traditional dances, with their overwhelming rhythm and ancient roots, involve the audience in a collective experience that is both a show and a popular ritual.
To Sud is not just music and food: the funfair with its rides, children's entertainment, the market, and performance moments like parades and musical tributes make the event suitable for all ages. It is an appointment designed for families, groups of friends, and curious visitors who want to experience a different weekend just a stone's throw from Turin.
More than just a simple festival, To Sud is an identity-focused celebration that honors the bond between Piedmont and the Southern regions. Promoted by the Associazione Calabro Piemontese, the event highlights the meeting of different cultures and traditions, confirming itself as one of the most cherished events of the Settimo spring.
The 2026 edition enlivened the Parco Alcide De Gasperi in Settimo Torinese from Thursday, April 9 to Sunday, April 12, with a busy calendar of music, gastronomy, and family entertainment. Between Southern street food, parades, musical tributes, and the rhythms of pizzica and tarantella, the event confirmed its character as a Southern folk festival transplanted into Piedmont.
