Five days of music, tradition, sports, and gastronomy in honor of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Every year, at the beginning of September, Gassino Torinese transforms into the stage for one of the most cherished festivals in the Metropolitan City of Turin. The Patronal Festival, dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (celebrated on September 8th), is an event that weaves together faith, popular tradition, and entertainment, drawing residents and visitors from across the Turin hills and the wider Piedmont region.
For nearly a week, the town lives to the rhythm of music, flavors, and conviviality. The program alternates between evening concerts, dance nights, tribute bands, and DJ sets, as well as more intimate moments like the religious procession in honor of the Infant Mary, the true spiritual heart of the celebration. There is no shortage of market stalls along the town center streets and the classic funfair with rides and attractions that delight the youngest visitors.
The nerve center of the festival is the PalaBabi, the Don Camillo Ferrero Multipurpose Hall on Via Ferrero, which hosts evening concerts, the gastronomic pavilion, and exhibitions. Here, you can taste local specialties, from the famous persi pien (Piedmontese stuffed peaches) to homemade desserts, while the Bar del Babi keeps the evenings going until late at night.
The festival is also an opportunity to discover the area through exhibitions curated by local photographic archives and town artists, and to experience sports with running events that wind through the streets and hills of Gassino. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Gassino Torinese, the tireless engine of the town's community life, in collaboration with the municipal administration and local organizations.
More than just a local fair, the Gassino Patronal Festival is the moment when the entire community comes together: a perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of a Piedmontese village in celebration, amidst tradition and joy, in a green corner of the province of Turin overlooking the Po hills.
