Pollino's Autumn on a Plate

Il Gusto del Pollino is the grand celebration of autumn flavors in Viggianello, a village in the province of Potenza nestled within the Pollino National Park. For several weekends, between October and November, the town becomes a showcase for seasonal products and Lucanian gastronomic traditions, with events held at the "E. Morricone" Municipal Amphitheater.

A Journey Through Seasonal Flavors

The absolute stars are the mushrooms and chestnuts of the Pollino, accompanied by cured meats, cheeses, honey, and many other specialties that tell the story of the region's richness. Traditional peasant dishes are also featured: kavatìeddi (handmade gnocchi), frascàtula (Lucanian polenta), and 'mbastata soup. Alongside tastings, there are markets for local products and crafts, as well as food workshops.

Tradition and Hospitality

Organized by the Pro Loco of Viggianello, the event combines food and wine promotion, village discovery, and contact with the nature of the Pollino during the foliage season. Events take place on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings, in a festive atmosphere that attracts visitors from all over Basilicata and neighboring regions.
