Art exhibition and Parkinson's awareness event at the Museo Madonna del Parto in Monterchi
The Municipality of Monterchi, a charming village in the Valtiberina area of Arezzo, presents the art exhibition "The Canvas of Life Beyond the Crack: Living with Parkinson's with Strength and Color," hosted within the prestigious Museo Madonna del Parto. The initiative stems from the idea of using the language of art to share the experience of living with Parkinson's disease, turning the "crack" of fragility into an opportunity for strength, expression, and beauty.
The exhibition is more than just a display of works; it is a journey that bridges the aesthetic, human, and scientific dimensions. The canvases and works on display serve as a common thread for a collective reflection on care, dignity, and the quality of life for those facing neurodegenerative diseases.
The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, starting at 5:00 PM, at the Museo Madonna del Parto. The evening's program includes:
Monterchi is famous throughout Tuscany and beyond for housing the Madonna del Parto by Piero della Francesca, one of the most enigmatic and admired masterpieces of the Renaissance. Choosing this museum as the venue gives the event a special symbolic value: Renaissance art engages in a dialogue with contemporary art and a deeply relevant theme, in a place that has always celebrated life, motherhood, and care.
The event is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Monterchi and represents an opportunity to combine awareness, participation, and the promotion of the artistic heritage of the province of Arezzo, in the heart of Tuscany.
The opening of the exhibition is scheduled for Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 5:00 PM at the Museo Madonna del Parto in Monterchi (AR). The opening ceremony weaves together different languages to address the theme of Parkinson's disease with sensitivity and participation.
