About Ecomondo

Ecomondo is the most important international fair in the Mediterranean dedicated to the green economy, blue economy, and circular economy. Every November, the Rimini Expo Centre transforms into the European capital of ecological transition, bringing together over 1,700 exhibitors and more than 100,000 professional visitors from around the world. Four days of exhibition, scientific conferences, business matching, and innovation, from waste management to water cycle, from bioeconomy to bioenergy.

Ecomondo, the capital of ecological transition

Organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), Ecomondo is the leading event in Europe and the Mediterranean basin for the green, blue, and circular economy. Since its first edition in the late nineties, the fair has grown to become a global event: every autumn, the Rimini exhibition center, in the heart of Romagna, hosts companies, institutions, research centers, and international buyers for four days entirely dedicated to environmental sustainability and technological innovation.

Supply Chains and Exhibition Sectors

Ecomondo is organized into thematic macro-areas and vertical districts that cover the entire value chain of the ecological transition:

  • Waste as Resource โ€” waste management, recycling, and valorization
  • Water Cycle and Blue Economy โ€” purification, integrated water management, marine economy
  • Circular and Regenerative Bioeconomy โ€” bioenergy, biomethane, and sustainable agriculture
  • Contaminated Sites and Remediation โ€” soil remediation and urban regeneration
  • Environmental Monitoring and Earth Observation
  • Circular Textiles โ€” a rapidly growing sector, with an entire pavilion dedicated to the supply chain

Conferences, Research, and General States of the Green Economy

The true heart of Ecomondo is not just the exhibition, but the dense scientific and political program that accompanies it. Every year, over 200 conferences, conventions, and workshops are held, coordinated by an authoritative Technical-Scientific Committee. The highlight event is the General States of the Green Economy, organized by the Foundation for Sustainable Development in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, which sets the national sustainability agenda each year.

A Global Hub for Green Business

Ecomondo is also a major business hub: the hosted buyer program brings hundreds of operators from dozens of countries to Rimini, generating thousands of B2B meetings. The event has developed a strong international dimension with roadshows and twin events in Mexico, China, and Africa, consolidating Emilia-Romagna's role as a global crossroads for the circular economy. For the Municipality of Rimini and the entire Province, Ecomondo represents one of the most important trade fair events of the year, capable of animating the city outside the summer season.

Ecomondo โ€” edition 2026

The 29th edition of Ecomondo returns to Rimini Expo Centre from November 3 to 6, 2026, becoming even more international and global. The major supply chains for the ecological transition are confirmed, and a new pavilion entirely dedicated to circular textiles has been announced, while the General States of the Green Economy opens the event with a plenary session in English.

The 29th edition of Ecomondo takes place at the Rimini Expo Centre from Tuesday, November 3 to Friday, November 6, 2026. This edition aims for an even more global dimension, with international roadshows and a network of partners spanning Europe, North Africa, the Americas, and China.

Among the main innovations announced by organizer Italian Exhibition Group: a new exhibition sector dedicated to Textiles, for which an entire pavilion will be reserved as an international hub for the entire supply chain; a reinforced focus on healthy and circular cities, artificial intelligence, and new digital technologies for the ecological transition.
