TEDxBarletta: Ideas that matter in the City of the Challenge

TEDxBarletta is the annual event that transforms Barletta, in the province of Barletta-Andria-Trani (BAT), into a laboratory of ideas focused on the future. Organized independently under a TED license by the Associazione Idee da Diffondere, the conference is the longest-running in Puglia. Since its 2019 debut, it has hosted over one hundred speakers, engaging thousands of spectators around the core TED philosophy: "ideas worth spreading."

An international format with a Puglian touch

Modeled after the famous Californian conferences, TEDxBarletta selects a compelling theme each year, explored through eighteen-minute talks. Each session features guests from diverse fields, including science, business, art, journalism, technology, and social activism. Alongside the main stage presentations, the event features artistic performances, musical interludes, and the "Call 4 Ideas," a competition that invites young people and local citizens to present their own visions from the stage.

The Teatro Curci: The beating heart of the event

The event is hosted at the historic Teatro Curci, a 19th-century jewel overlooking Corso Vittorio Emanuele in the center of Barletta. The theater's main hall hosts the primary conference, while side activities, workshops, and networking sessions take place in city venues such as the Opera Omnia on Via Imbriani. It is a widespread event that integrates the city's cultural life with an international-caliber gathering.

Speakers, performances, and side activities

Over the years, TEDxBarletta has hosted researchers, entrepreneurs, creatives, doctors, activists, and content creators, alternating reflections on artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and the environment with deep dives into design, communication, and visual arts. The evenings at the Curci combine talks with dance, live music, and comedy for a multidisciplinary experience that blends substance with entertainment.

The 2026 Edition

Following the success of the "Electric Sheep" edition in October 2025, the organizers have already set their sights on 2026. Dates and the theme for the upcoming edition have not yet been made official.
