About OrgaNova

OrgaNova – Santa Maria del Passo International Season is an annual organ festival that unites Triggiano and nearby Mola di Bari, in the province of Bari (Apulia). In Triggiano, concerts are held in the Church of Santa Maria Veterana, where the organ engages in dialogue with voices, period instruments, poetry, and cinema. In 2026, the festival reaches its 17th edition under the artistic direction of Margherita Sciddurlo, featuring Italian and international performers. Admission is free until capacity is reached.

OrgaNova in Triggiano: the organ that unites two cities

OrgaNova – Santa Maria del Passo International Season is the international organ festival that brings life to Triggiano, a town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia, alongside the neighboring town of Mola di Bari. Originally established as the Santa Maria del Passo International Organ Festival, it reaches its 17th edition in 2026, confirming a project that weaves together sacred music, classical repertoire, and other art forms, creating a true cultural twinning between the two communities.

The Church of Santa Maria Veterana

In Triggiano, the concerts take place in the Church of Santa Maria Veterana, the mother church of the historic center and the spiritual heart of the city. Its organ becomes the protagonist of evenings where music interacts with the human voice, period instruments, poetry, drama, and even classic silent cinema. It is here that the festival presents some of its most evocative performances every year, in an intimate and charming atmosphere.

An international program

The artistic direction is entrusted to organist Margherita Sciddurlo, who selects Italian and international performers and crafts each concert as a thematic journey, spanning from the Middle Ages to the Baroque and contemporary styles. Alongside guest soloists, the ensembles and choirs of the "Nino Rota" Conservatory of Monopoli take the stage, fostering a constant dialogue between great masters and young talents.

Music and other arts

OrgaNova is more than just an organ concert series: over the seasons, music has been combined with poetry, acting, percussion, and visuals, with events that have accompanied silent films like Charlie Chaplin's "City Lights" or celebrated anniversaries and spiritual figures. This multidisciplinary approach makes every evening a unique experience, capable of speaking to sacred music enthusiasts, curious audiences, and families alike.

Organizers

The festival is promoted and organized by the Arte & Musica Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Pasquale Battista Foundation of Triggiano and the Municipality of Mola di Bari, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and the Apulia Region. Admission to all concerts is free until capacity is reached, reflecting its popular vocation and openness to the local area.

OrgaNova — edition 2026

The 17th edition of OrgaNova brings five events to the Church of Santa Maria Veterana in Triggiano between January and December 2026. It begins on January 6 with the preview "L'amor che move il sole e l'altre stelle" by the madrigal group of the Monopoli Conservatory, followed by the synesthetic concert by Filippo Sorcinelli (May 3). Artistic direction by Margherita Sciddurlo. Free admission until capacity is reached.
