About Teatro Odeon Season

The Teatro Odeon Season in Ponsacco is a live performance series bringing the newly renovated Cinema Teatro Odeon on Via dei Mille to life in the heart of the Valdera region. Organized by the Municipality of Ponsacco in partnership with the Accademia dei Fortificati, the program blends prose, concerts, opera, comedy, and singer-songwriter performances. This season was designed to bring high-quality entertainment back to the Province of Pisa, featuring nationally acclaimed artists and evenings deeply connected to the local community.

A season of performance in the heart of Ponsacco

The Teatro Odeon Season in Ponsacco is the event that, every winter and spring, brings world-class live entertainment back to the Cinema Teatro Odeon on Via dei Mille. Recently renovated, the theatre has reclaimed its role as a cultural landmark for the Valdera area and the entire Province of Pisa. The series is promoted by the Municipality of Ponsacco in collaboration with the Accademia dei Fortificati, an association dedicated to promoting theatre and music in the region.

A program of prose, music, and opera

The season's strength lies in its variety: audiences can enjoy everything from classic prose to concerts, opera to comedy, and singer-songwriter sets to instrumental recitals. This multidisciplinary program aims to cater to diverse tastes and introduce theatre to new audiences, all while keeping prices accessible throughout the colder months of the year.

The 2025-2026 season opened on Thursday, December 11, 2025, with Andrea Buscemi in Uno, nessuno e centomila, based on the masterpiece by Luigi Pirandello, and continued with five events, all starting at 9:15 PM:

  • Friday, January 16, 2026 โ€” Notte di Tango, an evening dedicated to Argentine tango with music by Gardel, Furlanich, and Piazzolla;
  • Friday, February 6, 2026 โ€” Opera Concert with piano accompaniment, a tribute to the greatest pages of the operatic repertoire;
  • Friday, February 20, 2026 โ€” Nada Malanima with her Nitrito Tour, a journey through the career of one of Italy's most beloved singer-songwriters;
  • Friday, March 20, 2026 โ€” David Pratelli Show, an impressionist and vocal transformation performance that closed the season.

The Teatro Odeon and Ponsacco

The Cinema Teatro Odeon was born from the restoration of a historic space linked to Villa Elisa and now stands as one of the most vibrant cultural venues in the Valdera. Its reopening in 2024 marked a new chapter for the performing arts in Ponsacco, a town in Tuscany also known for its furniture-making tradition. The theatre season helps strengthen the town's cultural identity, establishing it as a small but significant hub for spectators from neighboring municipalities.
