Andrea Bocelli's concert in the hills of Lajatico
The Teatro del Silenzio is one of the most poetic spots in Tuscany. It is located in Lajatico, a small town in the province of Pisa nestled among the hills of the upper Valdera, the birthplace of Andrea Bocelli. For 364 days a year, this natural amphitheater remains immersed in the silence of the countryside; for just one dayโor a few daysโthat silence is "broken" by music, giving life to an event that attracts spectators from all over the world every summer.
Inaugurated in 2006 based on an idea by Bocelli himself, the Teatro del Silenzio is an open-air stage that blends into the landscape: a small lake, monumental sculptures serving as a backdrop, and the hills acting as natural wings. Each year, a different work of art accompanies the concert, featuring installations by great artists such as Igor Mitoraj.
The twenty-first edition takes place in July 2026 with three performances. On July 21, Matteo Bocelli opens the festival, presenting his new album in an Italian premiere. On July 23 and 25, it is Andrea Bocelli's turn, with a special program dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Romanza, the 1996 album that launched his international career and remains one of the best-selling records of all time by an Italian artist.
The Teatro del Silenzio is more than just a concert: it is a total spectacle that combines music, dance, monumental set designs, and international guests. Over the years, the stage in Lajatico has welcomed world-renowned opera and pop stars, transforming a Tuscan village of a few thousand inhabitants into the music capital for a few summer evenings.
Attending the concert is also an opportunity to discover an authentic corner of Tuscany: the hills of the Valdera, the villages, the olive groves, and the vineyards that surround Lajatico. The bond between Andrea Bocelli and his homeland is the heart of the entire event, which brings extraordinary visibility to this territory every year.
The 2026 edition of the Teatro del Silenzio celebrates two anniversaries and two generations of the Bocelli family. Andrea Bocelli dedicates his evenings to the 30th anniversary of Romanza (1996), the record that marked the international turning point of his career, while Matteo Bocelli brings his new musical work to the stage in Lajatico. As per tradition, the show combines music, monumental set designs, and guests in the unique setting of the natural amphitheater among the Pisan hills.
In case of bad weather, the evenings will be rescheduled for July 22, 24, and 26, 2026, respectively. The show, as is tradition at the Teatro del Silenzio, will include guests, dance performances, and set designs yet to be announced.
