The Tartufesta del Po is the autumn gastronomic festival of Carbonara di Po, a hamlet in the Municipality of Borgocarbonara, in the province of Mantua. Now in its twentieth edition, it is one of the most anticipated events in the Oltrepรฒ Mantovano for enthusiasts of the prized Tuber Magnatum Pico, the white truffle that grows wild in the riverside woods of the Po.
Carbonara di Po, along with nearby Borgofranco, is part of the territory of Borgocarbonara, recognized as a City of Truffles. It is a borderland between Lombardy, Emilia, and Veneto, where the truffle culture has been rooted for generations and has given rise to two major autumn events, each with its own identity.
The heart of the Tartufesta is the cuisine of the Pro Loco Carbonarese, hosted in the Sala Polivalente Auser on Via Marconi, heated and air-conditioned. The menu is a journey into Mantuan tradition enhanced by truffles:
A market pavilion with typical local products is also set up inside the hall. The event takes place over several weekends between late October and November, with dinner on Fridays and Saturdays and lunch on Sundays.
Participating in the Tartufesta del Po means discovering the convivial and gastronomic soul of the Bassa region: the autumn fog, the riverbanks, and the intense flavors of the truffle create an atmosphere that tells the most authentic identity of this corner of the province of Mantua.
The 2026 edition of the Tartufesta del Po takes place in Carbonara di Po (Municipality of Borgocarbonara, MN) over several weekends between late October and November: October 30-31 and November 1, then November 6-8, 13-15, and 20-22. The Pro Loco Carbonarese kitchen offers the complete traditional Mantuan menu enhanced by white truffle from the Po, in the Auser Multipurpose Hall on Via Marconi.
A market pavilion with typical local products is open inside the hall.
