The food and wine festival of Cavezzo dedicated to the queen of Emilian cuisine
Every year, between the end of August and the first days of September, the Municipality of Cavezzo (Province of Modena, Emilia-Romagna) pays homage to one of the most beloved dishes of regional tradition with the Tagliatella Festival. The event takes place at the covered stand of Villa Giardino, in Via della Libertà, and for over twenty years it has been one of the most anticipated gastronomic events in this corner of the Emilian plain.
Hand-rolled pasta is the true queen of the festival. On the table, you'll find tagliatelle al ragù, al Barolo, with vegetable sauce, and Tyrolean versions, also designed for vegetarians. The menu continues with traditional main courses — stuffed chicken, cotoletta, sausage, tomino with vegetables — and seasonal side dishes. To finish, mixed trolley desserts: tarts, chocolate salami, zuppa inglese, and other Emilian home-style delicacies.
The Tagliatella Festival is not just about good food. Every evening features a live music performance, accompanying dinner and transforming the park into a meeting point for the entire community. The dedicated children's area, with inflatables and activities for the little ones, makes the festival family-friendly. In recent years, the organization has enhanced the event with a new seating area and a festival bar for aperitifs and cocktails.
Organized by the Parish of Cavezzo with the patronage of the Municipality, the event retains the authentic spirit of village festivals: volunteerism, conviviality, and the desire to gather around a dish that tells the gastronomic identity of the Bassa modenese. The stand opens in the evening, while on Sundays, there is also a special opening at lunchtime.
For visitors to the area, it is also an opportunity to discover Cavezzo and the neighboring municipalities of the Area Nord modenese, a territory that has risen again after the 2012 earthquake and today focuses on tradition, hospitality, and good food.
The 2026 edition of the Tagliatella Festival takes place in Cavezzo (MO) from August 29 to September 1, 2026, at the covered stand of Villa Giardino. As per tradition, each evening will be enlivened by a live music performance, while the park will host inflatables and activities for children. The dates are confirmed; the detailed program of musical evenings will be announced by the organization in the weeks preceding the event.
