MIC Fest arrives in Fabbrico

In the summer of 2026, MIC Fest XXIII — an acronym for Musica Incontri Cultura (Music Encounters Culture), the evolution of the historic interregional review Musica in Castello — makes a stop in Fabbrico, a small municipality in the Bassa reggiana area, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. The event is scheduled for Sunday, August 30th, 2026, at 9:30 PM, at Palazzo Guidotti, one of the historic residences of the town, with free admission.

Maurizio Ferrini on stage

The star of the evening is Maurizio Ferrini, an actor and comedian also known to the general public as Signora Coriandoli, who presents 'A carnevale ogni omicidio vale'. The show is based on the giallo novel of the same name written by Ferrini with Giovanni Fabiano, a story with ironic and brilliant tones that mixes mystery, passion, and elegance. On the Fabbrico stage, the written page becomes a scene, in an evening that combines comedy, literature, and theatre.

A travelling festival through villages and historic courtyards

The Fabbrico stop is one of the 48 free events that make up the MIC Fest XXIII program, scheduled from June 12th to September 11th, 2026. The festival, artistically directed by Enrico Grignaffini and promoted by the Associazione Piccola Orchestra Italiana APS, spans 38 municipalities and 8 provinces across Emilia-Romagna (Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, and Modena), Lombardia (Cremona and Mantova), and Toscana (Massa Carrara and La Spezia), involving about 68 Italian and international artists.

The philosophy of the review is that of a travelling festival: medieval squares, Renaissance courtyards, historic villas, and parks become an integral part of the artistic experience. The general program ranges from jazz, swing, song-theatre, dance, and performance, divided into the sections MIC Jazz, MIC Teatro, MIC Libri, and offerings for children and families.

Fabbrico and the Bassa reggiana

Located in the plain north of Reggio Emilia, Fabbrico is a locality in Emilia-Romagna linked to the agricultural and cultural traditions of the Bassa area. Events like the MIC Fest bring high-quality cultural offerings to the villages of the Reggio Emilia province, enhancing the historic sites of the town — such as Palazzo Guidotti — and offering residents and visitors an evening of completely free live entertainment.
