The travelling summer festival in the parks of San Felice sul Panaro
E…state nei parchi is the summer festival that enlivens San Felice sul Panaro, a town in the Modena plain in Emilia-Romagna, for almost two months. From May 29th to July 23rd, the event takes turns visiting the parks and green areas of the main town and its hamlets, transforming each evening into an outdoor village festival with music, good food, and conviviality.
The format is that of a travelling festival: each event takes place in a different park, involving all the local communities in turn. It starts from Manzini Park on via Villa Gardé, then moves to the civic centre of Dogaro, to the park on via Gelseta in Rivara, to the park on via Puviani, to the Circolo Arci of Confine, to Carrobbio Park in San Biagio, to Estense Park, and finally to the small square of Pavignane.
The heart of each evening is the food stall and bar, accompanied by ballroom dancing with orchestras of the Emilian tradition. Local culinary specialities are also featured – from maccheroni al pettine to grilled meat, from gnocco fritto to fritters – and the unmissable lottery draw. Some stops also offer themed evenings, from country to 1950s and 60s rock'n'roll.
"E…state nei parchi" is organised by the Pro Loco of San Felice sul Panaro, with the collaboration of local associations, volunteer groups, and citizens, and with the patronage of the Municipality. It is one of the most cherished festivals of the San Felice summer: a simple and genuine opportunity to gather outdoors, between a barbecue and a dance, on warm evenings in the province of Modena.
