Four days of music, fried dumplings, and craft beer in the hamlet of Staggia
The Staggia Festival is the traditional festival of the hamlet of Staggia, in the Municipality of San Prospero, in the Province of Modena, in the heart of the Bassa modenese in Emilia-Romagna. Originally a parish festival linked to the feast of the Most Holy Name of Mary, over time it has transformed into a very popular gastronomic festival, capable of attracting visitors from all over the San Prospero and Mirandola area and surrounding towns.
The heart of the event is the Former Parish Kindergarten Area at Via Chiesa Staggia 15, with indoor and outdoor spaces that allow the festival to be held even in bad weather. The festival is organized by the Parish of Staggia together with the volunteer group Rock Beer Party, which is particularly responsible for the music and the bar area.
Gastronomy is one of the festival's strong points. The kitchen service operates every evening, with a wide selection of typical Emilian dishes:
Friday evenings are dedicated to grilling and sandwiches, while Sundays offer fixed traditional menus by reservation. The bar area offers craft beers from local breweries and cocktails. Vegetarian options are also available upon request.
The festival is not just about food: every evening features a different live concert with local bands and groups, accompanied by themed evenings and quiz games. The "Olivetti story" exhibition, dedicated to the historic company and its machines, is always open. The festival traditionally concludes with a fireworks display on the final evening, eagerly awaited by the residents of Staggia and the entire Municipality of San Prospero.
The Staggia Festival truly represents the spirit of Emilian village festivals, where conviviality around the table, popular music, and the bond with the parish community intertwine in one grand end-of-summer celebration. It is a genuine opportunity to discover the cuisine and hospitality of the Province of Modena away from the most crowded tourist routes.
The Sagra di Staggia 2026 returns to the hamlet of Staggia, in San Prospero, from Friday, September 11 to Monday, September 14, 2026. The tried-and-tested formula is confirmed: traditional Modenese cuisine (tortelloni, gramigna, roast beef, scaloppine, polenta), fried dumplings every evening, craft beers, and cocktails at the bar. Each evening features a different live concert, themed nights, and quiz games, with the "Olivetti story" exhibition always open. Grand finale with the fireworks display on the last evening. The detailed music program with band names will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the festival.
From September 11 to 14, 2026. Kitchen opens at 8:00 PM; on public holidays also at 12:30 PM.
