About Tagliatella Festival

In Poggio Berni, a hamlet of Poggio Torriana in the province of Rimini, the Tagliatella Festival celebrates the queen of Romagna cuisine every summer: fresh, handmade tagliatelle prepared by the 'azdore' (local women) of the Pro Loco. Three evenings of gastronomic stands at the Area Teatro Aperto, with tagliatelle served in three versions, piadina, grilled meat, and lots of live music. A genuine village festival, with free admission, where the tradition of Romagna's 'sfoglia' (pasta dough) meets the joy of summer evenings under the stars of Valmarecchia.

The queen of the Romagna table

In the heart of Valmarecchia, a few kilometers from the Rimini Riviera, the Tagliatella Festival in Poggio Berni pays homage to Romagna's most iconic dish. Organized by the Pro Loco Poggio Berni, the festival takes place in the Municipality of Poggio Torriana, in the province of Rimini, and has become a regular summer event for local families and the many tourists who come from the coast to the hilly hinterland.

Hand-rolled pasta

The absolute star is the rigorously handmade tagliatelle: the 'sfogline', the historic Romagna 'azdore', roll out the dough with a rolling pin according to tradition, respecting the proportions and thickness that make Romagna's tagliatelle a true specialty. At the festival stands, the pasta is served in three different versions to suit all tastes:

  • tagliatelle with traditional ragรน;
  • tagliatelle with vegetables;
  • tagliatelle with cheese.

Alongside the main dish, the gastronomic stand offers other Romagna culinary staples: hot piadina, grilled meat, and seasonal side dishes, all accompanied by Sangiovese wine from the surrounding hills.

Music and dancing under the stars

The Tagliatella Festival is not just about food: every evening, after dinner, the Area Teatro Aperto comes alive with shows and live music. Romagna's 'liscio' (traditional folk dance) orchestras and dance performances accompany the evenings, in full village dance hall style, with dancing remaining one of the essential ingredients of a Romagna folk festival.

A genuine village festival

The Poggio Berni festival is an authentic village celebration, far from large commercial circuits: it's the community coming together, it's the Pro Loco volunteers cooking for everyone, it's the aroma of pasta dough mixing with that of meat on the grill. Admission is free and the formula remains the simple and winning one of Romagna's summer festivals, where you eat well, spend reasonably, and dance until evening.

Between sea and hills

Poggio Torriana is located in Valmarecchia, a land of castles, villages, and traditions, halfway between the beaches of Rimini and the hinterland of Montefeltro. The festival is the perfect opportunity to discover this less touristy but flavor-rich corner of Emilia-Romagna, combining an evening in the hills with a seaside vacation.
