The swing and Lindy Hop festival on the Gulf of Trieste
Swing Harbour is the international swing dance festival organized by the Trieste Swing Cultural Association. For a long weekend, the city becomes a meeting point for enthusiasts of Lindy Hop, Balboa, and Solo Jazz, attracting dancers, instructors, and musicians from all over Europe to the evocative setting of the Gulf of Trieste.
The educational heart of the festival is the workshops: Lindy Hop, Balboa, Solo Jazz, traditional Afro, and Tap classes, led by internationally renowned instructors. The lessons take place in various spaces in the city center, while the dance parties and concerts are headquartered at the Teatro Miela Bonawentura, overlooking the sea.
The nights of Swing Harbour are marked by live music: swing and jazz bands play for the large dance parties, which continue until late at night. Between classes, the festival is also an opportunity for socializing and exchange, with dancers of all levels sharing the floor.
The combination of golden-age swing and the charm of a seaside city is a winning formula: Swing Harbour makes Trieste one of the most beloved destinations on the Italian and European swing circuit, where dance meets Mitteleuropean elegance and the Adriatic light.
The 8th edition of Swing Harbour enlivens Trieste from June 5 to 8, 2026, with evening parties at the Teatro Miela and classes spread between via Giustiniano and viale XX Settembre. The program features workshops in Lindy Hop, Balboa, Solo Jazz, traditional Afro, and Tap.
Among the instructors are Bianca & Nils (Italy/Sweden), Heather & Javier (USA), and Daniela & Lorenzo (Italy). The dancing nights are accompanied by live music from Professor Cunningham Quartet, Veronica and The Ragtime Rogues with Giorgio Cuscito, and The Ragtime Jazz Band.
