In Turriaco, on the second weekend of September, this dish becomes the absolute protagonist of the Festa in Piazza e del Bacalà (Festival in the Square and of the Codfish), organized by Pro Loco Turriaco APS with the involvement of volunteers from local associations.
A Festival of Taste and Community
The heart of the event is the large communal table in the square, where 'baccalà alla bisiaca' is prepared and served thanks to the collaboration of the town's restaurateurs and volunteers. Surrounding this signature dish is a rich and popular program: card tournaments (briscola), bike rides, treasure hunts for children, tombola (bingo), dog parades, and plenty of live music with local artists. The festival traditionally opens with the "Galà del Bacalà Bisiac", an event dedicated to celebrating the recipe.
