The Suq, a market of cultures
The Suq Festival - Teatro del Dialogo is one of the most emblematic events in Genoa, held at the Porto Antico, in Piazza delle Feste. Founded in 1999, the Suq is a multi-ethnic bazaar, a theatre festival, and a grand international table where world cultures meet and dialogue.
Bazaar, theatre, and world cuisines
The heart of the festival is the bazaar, with dozens of craft stalls from as many countries and numerous international cuisines offering a gastronomic journey around the world. Alongside the market, the rich theatre program features performances, national premieres, and shows addressing themes of encounter, rights, and crossing borders.
A civic festival
The Suq has a strong civic and international vocation: each edition revolves around a theme that invites reflection on the major issues of the present, from coexistence between cultures to human rights. The artistic direction is by Carla Peirolero, the festival's creator.
Genoa, capital of encounter
A city of the sea and port, always a crossroads of peoples, Genoa finds in the Suq an event that tells its most open and welcoming soul. For visitors to the Ligurian capital in June, the Suq Festival is a unique experience that combines taste, performance, and dialogue, within the setting of the Porto Antico.
Suq Festival — edition 2026
From June 13 to 24, 2026, the Porto Antico of Genoa hosts the 28th edition of the Suq Festival, on the theme Crossing Borders. The festival offers over 60 events in twelve days, with 35 countries represented, 40 craft stalls, and 14 international cuisines.
The theatre program includes 10 shows, 3 of which are national premieres, under the artistic direction of Carla Peirolero and Bintou Ouattara. The preview is scheduled for June 13.

How to get there
The Porto Antico of Genoa is reachable on foot from the centre and from the Principe and Brignole stations. By car, take the Genova Ovest exit. Piazza delle Feste is located in the Aquarium area.
