A festival right on the water

The Sea Stories Festival has a unique characteristic: it takes place on the Isola delle Chiatte, the floating platform designed by Renzo Piano in the Porto Antico (Old Port) of Genoa. Here, right on the water's surface, theatrical performances, stories, shows, and music nights come to life, in a scenic setting that blends the stage dimension with that of the sea.

Stories of the sea and imagination

The festival's common thread is storytelling, often linked to the sea and maritime imagination. The shows, produced by the Compagnia Chierici together with Porto Antico, range from immersive theatre for adults and families to reinterpretations of classics, to electronic music nights that liven up summer nights.

Ten years of shows

Born to bring theatre to one of the city's most evocative locations, the festival has built up a loyal audience over the years. The tenth-anniversary edition confirms the variety of its offerings, with shows scheduled between June and August, as part of the Porto Antico's EstateSpettacolo programme.
