A festival at water level

The Sea Stories Festival has a characteristic that makes it unique: it takes place on the Isola delle Chiatte, the floating platform designed by Renzo Piano in the Old Port of Genoa. Here, at water level, theatrical performances, stories, shows, and music nights come to life, in a scenic setting that blends the dimension of the stage with that of the sea.

Stories of the sea and imagination

The common thread of the festival is storytelling, often linked to the sea and maritime imagination. The shows, produced by the Compagnia Chierici together with the Old Port, range from immersive theatre for adults and families to reinterpretations of classics, to electronic music nights that liven up summer nights.

Ten years of shows

Born to bring theatre to one of the most evocative places in the city, the festival has built up a loyal audience over the years. The tenth-anniversary edition confirms the variety of the offering, with titles spread between June and August, within the Old Port's EstateSpettacolo program.
