The summer stop at 1,250 meters in Ostana, featuring the musical show "The Perfect Woman" by singer-songwriter Chiara Rosso
The 22nd edition of Suoni dal Monviso stops in Ostana, a small jewel of the Upper Po Valley in the Province of Cuneo, recognized as one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy. On Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM, Piazza Caduti per la Libertà becomes an open-air stage at an altitude of over 1,250 meters, with the majestic Monviso as a backdrop. It is one of the most evocative appointments on the calendar, where music dialogues with the alpine landscape and the Occitan identity of this village of just a few dozen inhabitants.
On stage, singer-songwriter and musician Chiara Rosso, whose voice moves naturally between black music, jazz, blues, and singer-songwriter styles, presents her show "The Perfect Woman". The project is inspired by the novel The Women Who Buy Flowers by Spanish writer Vanessa Montfort and questions, with irony and tenderness, contemporary female identity and the contradictory expectations society imposes on women. A journey of original tracks and covers that ranges from blues to jazz and pop, accompanied by a band of talented musicians from the Piedmont scene.
The Ostana stop is part of a widespread calendar that, from June to November, brings ten events to eight municipalities across four Cuneo valleys—from the Po Valley to the Varaita Valley, from the Bronda Valley to the Infernotto Valley. Big names in the 2026 edition include Francesca Michielin in Paesana and Arisa in Sampeyre, alongside choral, orchestral, and emerging local groups. The festival is promoted by the I Polifonici del Marchesato Association, active since 2004 in the musical and cultural enhancement of the Marchesato di Saluzzo.
The common thread of the 22nd edition is the dialogue between music and nature, expressed through the four elements—air, water, earth, and fire—which inspire the atmospheres of the various concerts. The festival pays great attention to environmental sustainability, event accessibility, and the involvement of younger generations, values that have always driven the Polifonici del Marchesato and find an ideal setting in Ostana, a symbol of alpine rebirth.
