A celebration of flavors and history in Mezzolago, on Lake Ledro
Su e Giù per la Contrà is the summer event that transforms the narrow streets of Mezzolago—a small hamlet overlooking Lake Ledro and part of the municipality of Ledro—into a journey of flavors, memories, and joy. Organized by the Pro Loco Mezzolago, the event takes place along Via San Michele and the village lanes, inviting residents and visitors to discover the most authentic side of this corner of Trentino.
The core of the festival is the promotion of the village's history and flavors. Along the route, you will find stalls with local products and an exhibition dedicated to ancient crafts, set up to keep the memory of our ancestors alive and tell the story of daily life in these valleys in times past. Bar services and tastings accompany the stroll, while live music enlivens the lanes until evening.
Mezzolago is one of the villages overlooking the shores of Lake Ledro, in one of the most picturesque valleys of the Trentino Alto Garda region. Its district preserves glimpses and stone houses that tell a long rural history: this very heritage is at the heart of the festival, designed as an invitation to walk up and down (su e giù) the village streets, rediscovering its identity. In recent years, the event has also featured traditional decorations, street performances, and entertainment that have made the atmosphere even more vibrant.
Curated by the volunteers of the Pro Loco, Su e Giù per la Contrà is a community festival that combines the typical hospitality of Trentino-Alto Adige with the pleasure of gathering among neighbors and tourists. It is the ideal opportunity to combine a day at Lake Ledro with the discovery of the area's gastronomic and artisanal traditions, in a simple, family-friendly atmosphere deeply rooted in the village.
The Su e Giù per la Contrà festival returns to Mezzolago di Ledro on August 9, 2026, running from late afternoon into the evening (approximately 4:30 PM to 10:00 PM). As per tradition, the Pro Loco Mezzolago brings the village lanes to life with stalls featuring typical products, tastings, bar service, an exhibition of ancient crafts, and live music. A stroll through the flavors and history of the village, on the shores of Lake Ledro, in the province of Trento.
