Local street food in the heart of Pont Canavese
The Street Food Festival in Pont Canavese, also known as the Pont Canavese Street Food, is one of the most beloved early summer culinary events in the Municipality of Pont Canavese, located in the Province of Turin at the gateway to the Orco and Soana Valleys in Piedmont. The event transforms the historic town squares—specifically Piazza Craveri and Piazza XXV Aprile—into a large open-air gourmet trail where local food and wine traditions meet flavors from across Italy.
The festival is born from the initiative of the Consulta Comunale Pontese, which, with the patronage of the Municipality, involves numerous local Pro Loco associations and merchants every year. Along the stalls, you can taste the most typical Piedmontese dishes alongside offerings from other regions:
Alongside the food, there are also artisanal craft stalls, creating a festive atmosphere that blends flavors, music, and social connection.
The evening is punctuated by live music spread across the various squares: recent editions have featured ska-core bands, groups performing the greatest hits of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, and the Banda Allegra, a roaming group of twelve musicians who accompany the public from one stall to the next. The result is a collective event capable of engaging families, children, youth, and seniors alike.
More than just a food fair, the Pont Canavese Street Food is a meeting point for the community of Pont Canavese and neighboring towns. The collaboration between the Consulta, the Municipality, the Pro Loco, and local merchants makes this evening a moment to celebrate local excellence and promote the Canavese region, nestled in a corner of Piedmont between the mountains of the Orco and Soana valleys.
