Quality street food on wheels arrives in Piazza della Libertà in Cesena
The STREEAT Food Truck Festival is one of the best-known street food events in Italy and stops every spring in the heart of Cesena, in Piazza della Libertà. Founded in 2014, it is the country's first travelling festival entirely dedicated to quality food on wheels: in over ten years of activity and twenty-five editions, it has welcomed more than a million visitors, featuring over a hundred food trucks and dozens of craft breweries from across the peninsula.
For three days, Piazza della Libertà transforms into a large village of taste: 'ape' cars, vans, caravans, motorcycles, and bicycles animate the centre of Cesena with colours, aromas, and specialities prepared on the spot. The gastronomic offer ranges from Italian street food classics to world cuisines, with a particular focus on vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free options, catering to every palate.
In addition to the food stands, the festival offers a true immersion into street culture: performances by buskers, writers, jugglers, storytellers, and dancers, workshops dedicated to street food culture, and a musical selection curated by Claudio Trotta of Barley Arts. There's also craft beer, with a selection highlighting Italian microbreweries.
Organised by Barley Arts and BUONO Food & Events, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cesena, the STREEAT Food Truck Festival offers free admission. The Cesena stop is now a well-established event on the city's spring calendar, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, and is a perfect opportunity to discover the conviviality and gastronomic tradition of Emilia-Romagna in a festive atmosphere.
