The charity dog walk in the Biella area
Strabau is a non-competitive charity walk designed to be enjoyed alongside your four-legged friend. Now in its third edition, the event is organised by the Pro Loco of Bioglio in collaboration with Il Pioppeto di Sandigliano and takes place in the municipality of Bioglio, a small town in the Cervo Valley in the Province of Biella, Piedmont. The event combines a love for animals, outdoor exercise, and the spirit of solidarity that has always characterised the initiatives of the local Pro Loco associations.
The meeting point is the La Valentina event area at Via Roma 21 in Bioglio, where registrations are collected in the morning before the start. The route winds for about 5 kilometres along the town's roads and paths, at a gentle pace suitable for families, children, and dogs of all sizes. Halfway through, there is a refreshment stop and a canine education session led by certified trainers, providing a useful opportunity to receive practical advice on managing your dog.
The afternoon is the spectacular heart of Strabau. The dog show, charmingly judged by a jury of children, awards the most original and well-matched dogs and their owners. This is followed by Disc Dog demonstrations and canine exhibitions by the Biella Soccorso Cinofilo, featuring displays of discipline, agility, and the bond between handler and animal that delight both adults and children.
Strabau has a charitable vocation and a travelling soul: over its editions, it has visited various locations in the Biella area, bringing the dog festival to a different municipality each year. The formula remains the same: a light walk, plenty of fun for children, and an opportunity to support a good cause in the company of your pets.
There is also a social aspect: the Pro Loco of Bioglio organises a lunch that allows participants to sit down and enjoy local cuisine, rounding off a day designed for animal lovers and those who enjoy outdoor life in the green hills of Piedmont.
The third edition of Strabau was held on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Bioglio (the backup date in case of bad weather was set for June 14). The programme kicked off at 9:00 am with registration at the La Valentina event area on Via Roma 21.
