The festival of stewed dishes
In Cantù, in the heart of Brianza in the Province of Como, the Stewed Meats Festival celebrates the region's autumn cuisine at the end of October: that of long-cooked, rich, traditional dishes. Under the tents of the Campo Solare, on Via Giovanni da Cermenate, donkey braised meat, osso buco, tripe, and Venetian-style liver are served, accompanied by polenta and wine.
A charitable festival
The event is organized by the Amici dei Volontari ONLUS Association and has a strong charitable purpose: the proceeds are donated to the Cantù Civil Protection, for the purchase of new equipment. Over the years, the festival has become a small record of citizen participation, with thousands of Cantù residents and visitors flocking to the evenings.

A city known worldwide for furniture and lace, Cantù also preserves a solid convivial culture made up of local festivals and neighborhood parties. The Stewed Meats Festival is one of its most successful examples: a popular event that combines good Como cuisine with support for local volunteers.

The 2026 edition of the Stewed Meats Festival will be held as tradition dictates between late October and early November at the Campo Solare in Cantù, Province of Como. The exact dates will be published by the Municipality and Amici dei Volontari ONLUS.
Programme Stewed Meats 2026
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced by the organizers. The festival traditionally takes place over three days with the kitchen open for lunch and dinner: the menu features donkey braised meat, osso buco, tripe, and Venetian-style liver, served with polenta. In recent editions, the format included Friday evening opening and lunch and dinner services on the weekend.
