Crucifix Fair and Livestock Exhibition

A fair with ancient roots

The Crucifix Fair is one of the most traditional events in Cantù, in the province of Como. It takes place on the third Sunday of October around the Sanctuary of the Madonna dei Miracoli, where the Holy Crucifix has been venerated since 1675 and is displayed during the festival. A fair that blends religious devotion and rural culture, codified for over a century in the city's calendar.

The Livestock Exhibition

The agricultural heart of the fair is the Livestock Exhibition, with about sixty head of cattle on display in Piazzale Brighi. Alongside, the exhibition of historic tractors and vintage agricultural machinery tells the story of the evolution of farm work. The day opens in the morning with the inauguration and the accompaniment of the Giuseppe Verdi Musical Corps.

Activities for everyone

The fair offers numerous activities, especially for the little ones: an educational path with onotherapy, pet therapy, ornithology, psychomotricity, agility dog, and saddle baptism. There are also the Grandparents' Games, food stalls by Coldiretti and Campagna Amica, and entertainment for all ages.

Cantù and its tradition

Organized by Pro Loco Per Cantù and the Municipality, with the support of Regione Lombardia and BCC Cantù, the Crucifix Fair is an event that unites the city of Cantù with its rural soul. An opportunity to discover the Como Brianza region through faith, tradition, and local products.
