The automation and digital fair for smart industry
Among the most anticipated fairs in the Italian industrial calendar, SPS Italia is the reference event for the country's manufacturing sector. Organized by Messe Frankfurt Italia, it is held annually at Fiere di Parma, in the Municipality of Parma, in Emilia-Romagna, a region that is the beating heart of the European Motor Valley and advanced manufacturing. For three days, the Baganzola exhibition center becomes the showcase for automation, robotics, mechatronics, and digital technologies applied to industry.
The exhibition layout spans six pavilions. Pavilions 3, 5, and 6 showcase the evolution of industry through the most advanced solutions in industrial automation, robotics, mechatronics, digital & software. Pavilions 4, 7, and 8 host the Digital District, a place for experience: a dynamic path of working demos, artificial intelligence, and Industrial IT, structured into the Academy, Start-up, Industrial IT&AI, and Focus AI areas.
SPS Italia is not just an exhibition showcase, but a qualified moment for dialogue and in-depth discussion on the most strategic topics for manufacturing. The dense conference program is divided into multiple thematic arenas and addresses the major current issues: Cyber Security, Software-Defined Manufacturing, AI Agents, Robotics & Physical AI, and ESG. These are complemented by projects dedicated to training and new generations, with thousands of students involved in on-site lessons, robotics challenges, and school competitions.
For over a decade, SPS Italia has supported the growth of Italian automation, connecting manufacturers, system integrators, end-users, and the research world. The fair confirms itself as the main meeting point for those who design, produce, and innovate in industry, making Parma, a city already famous for its gastronomic and cultural heritage, also a capital of technology and sustainable digitalization.
The 2026 edition of SPS Italia, the fourteenth, confirmed Fiere di Parma as the Italian capital of automation and digital for industry. Six pavilions hosted the best manufacturing solutions, while the Digital District guided visitors through working demos, artificial intelligence, and Industrial IT. Five thematic pillars ran through both the exhibition floor and the rich conference program, with a particular focus on training and new generations.
Over 50 conferences spread across three thematic arenas (Industry, Tech, Next), featuring real-world AI adoption cases, sessions on robotics and artificial intelligence in collaboration with IEEE, the daily Cyber Insights series (NIS2, Digital Product Passport), and the Scientific Conference on the afternoon of May 27.
SPS Italia 2026 will be held from Tuesday, May 26 to Thursday, May 28, 2026, with opening hours for visitors from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM on all three days.
