Spring flowers, plants, and flavours in the historic centre of San Piero in Bagno
Every spring, the historic centre of San Piero in Bagno, a populous hamlet of the Municipality of Bagno di Romagna, in the province of Forlì-Cesena (Emilia-Romagna), dresses up for the Spring Festivals. The event, organised by the local Pro Loco with the support of the Municipality and as part of the tourist circuit "I Percorsi del Savio", attracts thousands of visitors every year from all over Romagna and neighbouring Tuscany.
The heart of the event is the large market exhibition of flowers and plants, which invades Piazza Salvador Allende and the streets of the centre. Nursery gardeners, florists, and producers display seasonal flowers, ornamental plants, aromatic herbs, and vegetable plants, in a riot of colours and scents that herald the arrival of the good season. Alongside the floral stands, there are stalls of artistic crafts and gardening products.
The Spring Festivals are also an opportunity to discover the gastronomic tradition of the Romagna Apennines. Along the village streets, stalls offer local specialities, typical products, and seasonal sweets, while local producers share the authentic flavours of the Savio valley. A delicious stroll among piadina, cheeses, cured meats, and other delicacies of Romagna cuisine.
The event pays great attention to children: the square comes alive with creative workshops, educational activities on floral and natural themes, games, and entertainment for children and families. There are also street performances, with artists, live music, and widespread entertainment that accompanies visitors throughout the day.
Nestled between the Casentinesi Forests and the Savio valley, San Piero in Bagno offers the ideal setting for a day outdoors. The Spring Festivals, with free admission, combine nature, tradition, and conviviality, confirming themselves as one of the most beloved events in the spring calendar of the Municipality of Bagno di Romagna and the entire Emilia-Romagna region.
The 2026 edition of the Spring Festivals takes place in San Piero in Bagno (Municipality of Bagno di Romagna) on April 25 and May 1, 2026. The traditional format of the event is confirmed: the large flower and plant market exhibition in Piazza Salvador Allende, the gastronomic stands with Romagna specialities, artistic crafts, creative workshops, and numerous activities for children and families, accompanied by street performances.
