Three days of traditional flavors from Cameri and Novara at the Cameri Market Area
When the days grow longer and the countryside around Cameri, in the province of Novara, begins to bloom, the Pro Loco Cameri kicks off its Spring Festival. It is one of those cornerstone events in the town's calendar: not a large-scale festival, but a genuine gastronomic celebration filled with long tables, mouth-watering aromas, and the joy of coming together after the winter.
The heart of the event is the Cameri Market Area, located between Via Sabbioncelli and Via Baracca—a spacious, easily accessible venue that fills with tables and people for three days. Admission is free, and you only pay for what you eat and drink: the classic formula for Piedmontese festivals, designed for families and anyone looking to enjoy local cuisine in a relaxed, informal setting.
The menu is the true star. The Pro Loco kitchen serves dishes that tell the story of Cameri and Novara traditions, featuring hearty appetizers, first courses, and main dishes. Among the specialties gracing the festival tables, you will find:
The dishes are paired with wines selected by Enoteca Micheletto, completing a journey through the flavors of Piedmont.
The Spring Festival is the result of the hard work of Pro Loco Cameri volunteers, an association that has been promoting the region and its food and wine excellence for years. Cameri, a town in the Novara area overlooking the Ticino River and its natural park, experiences these festivals as moments of strong community identity: much of the town comes together in the kitchen, at the tables, and behind the scenes.
For those visiting the area, the festival is also an excellent opportunity to discover the cuisine of the Novara region—a land of rice paddies and typical products—in an authentic and welcoming setting. An event to mark on your calendar every year with the arrival of spring.
The 2026 Spring Festival brought the Cameri Market Area to life from March 20 to 22, showcasing the tried-and-tested formula of the Pro Loco Cameri: free admission, an à la carte menu featuring Novara's local flavors, and plenty of space for families. This edition confirmed Cameri as one of the most beloved gastronomic stops of the spring in the Novara region.
Traditional specialties from Cameri and Piedmont: lardo with dark bread and honey, risotto with gorgonzola drops, tagliatelle with ragù, spring couscous, roast with passito wine and prunes, fassona steak, sausage and chips. Also featuring cheeses from the Latteria Sociale di Cameri and wines from Enoteca Micheletto.
