About Spring at the Castle

Spring at Castello Cavour is an annual one-day spring fair that transforms the historic park of Castello Cavour in Santena (Metropolitan City of Turin) into a large open-air market dedicated to flowers, plants, and wellness. Around 150 exhibitors from across Piedmont offer nursery plants, gardening equipment, handicrafts, local farm-to-table products, and holistic services, while workshops, guided tours, and children's activities bring the grounds of statesman Camillo Cavour's estate to life.

A spring day in the park of Castello Cavour

When the warmer season arrives, the park of Castello Cavour in Santena, in the Metropolitan City of Turin, fills with colors, scents, and visitors for Spring at the Castle. In just one intense Sunday, the historic estate that served as the home of statesman Camillo Benso, Count of Cavour, becomes a large open-air fair dedicated to gardening, flowers, and wellness, featuring around 150 exhibitors from all over Piedmont and beyond.

Nurseries, flowers, and local products

The heart of the event is the market winding through the park's pathways: nurseries, garden and indoor plants, flowers, and gardening equipment, alongside artisans, hobbyists, creatives, and holistic and wellness practitioners. Ample space is reserved for farm-to-table producers, with a small street food area and tastings of local agricultural products, also highlighted through the MOC (Mercato Oltre Collina) project, promoted by the Food District.

Workshops, tours, and family activities

Beyond green shopping, Spring at the Castle offers a rich program of experiences. Spring Air guided tours take visitors on a journey to discover the nature and history of the park, while Terrarium workshops allow guests to build small glass plant microcosms to take home. For the little ones, there are artist book workshops and numerous activities, including games, face painting, and inflatables. The Castle and the Cavour Museum remain the main attractions, open for visits throughout the day.

A growing event in Santena

Created to celebrate the arrival of spring, the fair is organized by the Fondazione Camillo Cavour together with the Santena E20 Association and the Gian Eventi Agency, with the patronage of the City of Santena. The success of the first editions, drawing thousands of visitors, has made this one of the most anticipated spring events in the area south of Turin, blending a passion for greenery with the culture and traditions of Piedmont.
