The SPQR Tango Marathon Rome is one of the most popular Argentine tango marathons in Italy and the benchmark event for the capital's tango community. Reaching its ninth edition in 2026, it draws hundreds of dancers from across the country and numerous European nations to Rome, united by a passion for the embrace, the music, and the non-stop milonga.

The format is the classic marathon style: a four-day program with over 35 hours of continuous dancing, from the Thursday night pre-party to the Sunday night after-party. There are no lessons or workshops, just pure social tango in a series of milongas brought to life by a selection of Italian and international DJs (musicalizadores).

The event is hosted at the Mercure Roma West Hotel, located at Viale degli Eroi di Cefalonia 301 in the EUR district of Rome, just a few minutes' drive from Rome Fiumicino Airport and about twenty minutes from the historic center. The modern and elegant facility houses the dance floor, restaurant halls, accommodation, and social spaces all under one roof: a valuable advantage that allows participants to experience the marathon without the need for travel, day or night.
