The Cavriago Sport Festival

The Sport Festival is one of the most anticipated events in the spring calendar of Cavriago, in the province of Reggio Emilia, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Organised by the Municipality of Cavriago together with a dense network of local sports clubs and associations, the event transforms the Pala AEB area, on Strada Pianella, into a large sports village open to all for an entire Sunday, with completely free admission.

A Day to Try and Discover

The idea behind the festival is simple yet effective: to give everyone, from the youngest to adults, the opportunity to get closer to sports by trying out different disciplines firsthand. Throughout the day, demonstrations, open trials, and games take place, with instructors from the associations available for the curious and newcomers. It's the ideal opportunity for local families to guide their children towards a new activity and to rediscover the value of outdoor movement.

The Disciplines Featured

The sports on offer are wide-ranging and varied, thanks to the participation of local organisations:

• Basketball, volleyball, and skating with the iCaRe sports club;
• Bocce in the dedicated area of the ARCI iCaRe club, with attention also given to the Paralympic discipline;
• Judo, karate, and martial arts with local schools;
• Running and walking with the Podistica Cavriago club;
• American football and flag football with the Hogs;
• Mobile wall climbing and inclusive recreational motor activities.

The Sport Festival is not just a showcase of disciplines: it is above all a moment of community. The convivial lunch offered by the ARCI iCaRe club, the cycling tour that opens the morning, and the awards for local athletes and teams strengthen the bond between associations and citizens.
