Snails take center stage in Villastrada

The Snail Festival is one of the most beloved gastronomic festivals in the lower Mantua area, hosted in Villastrada, a hamlet of the municipality of Dosolo (province of Mantua). Organized by Pro Loco Villastrada, the event takes place in Parco Primo Maggio and celebrates a typical product of local peasant tradition, the snail, presented in numerous recipes.

A menu entirely dedicated to snails

The heart of the festival is the menu entirely dedicated to snails, offered in many variations: snail spaghetti, crepes, risotto, snails Bourguignonne-style, fried with Grana cheese sauce, and stewed dishes. For those who prefer, there are also local specialties and vegetarian options, so every visitor can find their dish. The food stalls open on weekend evenings, in a convivial and family atmosphere.

A tradition of community

Having reached an important milestone of editions, the Snail Festival is an identity event for Villastrada and the entire Dosolo territory. In addition to good food, the festival offers recreational activities for children on Saturday evenings, making the event suitable for families. Amidst traditional flavors, village spirit, and the desire to be together, the festival renews the community's bond with its Mantuan gastronomic roots every spring.
