A festival for the land and those who work it

The Thanksgiving Festival is the celebration with which Suzzara, in the Province of Mantua, pays homage to the agricultural world and the fruits of the earth. It is held in Piazza Garibaldi and is organized by the Pro Loco Città di Suzzara in collaboration with the Parrocchia dell'Immacolata (Parish of the Immaculate Conception) and Coldiretti Mantova, testifying to the strong link between faith, agriculture, and community that characterizes the Bassa Mantovana.

Market, mass, and blessing of tractors

The program combines the religious and popular aspects. The Campagna Amica Market brings local farmers' zero-kilometer products to the square, while the play area entertains the little ones. The heart of the day are the Thanksgiving Mass, celebrated in the Church of the Immaculate Conception, and the evocative blessing of the tractors, a ritual that brings together farmers and their machinery as a sign of gratitude for the harvest.

Peasant tradition and conviviality

To complete the festival, the Thanksgiving Lunch, a convivial moment that concludes the day around the table. The Thanksgiving Festival keeps alive an ancient tradition, deeply rooted in the Po Valley countryside, and represents an opportunity to rediscover the values of agricultural work and the sense of community that still animates Suzzara and its hamlets today.
