The festival of Sicilian craft beers in the Borgo Marinaro of Avola
The Sicily Beer Fest is a traveling festival dedicated to Sicilian craft beer, organized by the Associazione Baz'Art Sicilia with the patronage of the Municipality of Avola. Following its stop in Capo d'Orlando, the event arrives in Avola, a baroque town in the province of Syracuse in the heart of the Val di Noto, where the Borgo Marinaro and Via Miramare transform into a grand village of taste overlooking the Ionian Sea.
At the heart of the event are the stalls of Sicilian craft breweries, each with its own story rooted in the local territory and passion. Protagonists of recent editions include Epica, Bruno Ribadi, Alveria, Terre a Sud Est, BAC, Rooswelt, Old Ways, and the Birrificio Siracusano, joined by the artisanal gin from the Survivor Group. It is a showcase that tells the story of the island's brewing renaissance, where technology, artisanal creativity, and local ingredients bring increasingly acclaimed labels to life.
Alongside the beer taps, the festival offers the best street food from Southern Italy: from spleen sandwiches to panelle and crocchรจ, to caciocavallo impiccato, Apulian bombette, and fried fish, with options also available for those seeking gluten-free products. Each evening, the program is enlivened by live music, DJ sets, and performances, as well as activities for children like face painting. Admission is free, and a welcome kit can be purchased, including a reusable glass, a glass holder, and beer tastings.
The Avola stop is set in a territory with strong tourist appeal: Avola, famous for its Nero d'Avola wine and almonds, is located in the Val di Noto, in the province of Syracuse, just a few kilometers from the UNESCO-listed masterpieces of Sicilian Baroque. The Sicily Beer Fest thus combines the discovery of craft beers with the scents of the Iblean countryside and the conviviality typical of a Sicilian summer.
The 2026 edition of the Sicily Beer Fest in Avola is scheduled from August 20 to 23, 2026, between the Borgo Marinaro and Via Miramare. Stalls from Sicilian craft breweries, Southern Italian street food, and free admission are confirmed.
The detailed musical program for the 2026 edition has not yet been released by the organizers: the official website lists concerts and DJ sets as "coming soon". As in previous editions, a calendar featuring live music, evening DJ sets, and children's activities is expected throughout the four days.
