Sicilian street food and local crafts in the heart of Lercara Friddi
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Sicilia Street Food Fest is the event that transforms the historic center of Lercara Friddi, a town in the hinterland of the Palermo province, into a grand culinary trail at the end of summer. The event is entirely dedicated to Sicilian street food and local craftsmanship: for two days, the town's squares—Piazza Duomo, Piazza Garibaldi, and Piazza Indipendenza—are filled with food stalls, enticing aromas, and music, attracting families, curious visitors, and fans of the island's popular cuisine.
The heart of the festival lies in traditional dishes, perfect for enjoying while wandering between the stalls. Among the specialties you can savor:
Alongside the food, there is space for craft beers and products from local producers in a market that celebrates the region's food, wine, and artisan heritage.
The Sicilia Street Food Fest is more than just gastronomy: the proven formula combines tastings with a program of live music, folk groups, and street performances that animate the various squares of the center. Past editions have featured local musical groups, band performances, and Sicilian folklore processions, making the evening a celebration for all ages.
The event is organized with the support of the Pro Loco of Lercara Friddi and is part of the town's rich summer program, which includes concerts, processions, re-enactments, and cultural initiatives that enliven the village from July to August. For those visiting the Palermo hinterland, the Sicilia Street Food Fest is an authentic opportunity to experience the flavors and hospitality of this Sicilian village.
The Sicilia Street Food Fest is expected to return to Lercara Friddi in 2026, confirming its status as a regular fixture in the town's summer calendar. The dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced; organizers have indicated that the program will be published soon.
As in previous editions, a weekend in the historic center's squares is expected, featuring Sicilian street food stalls—panelle, arancine, sfincione, fried snacks, and traditional sweets—accompanied by live music and local crafts. To stay updated on the final dates and program, we recommend following the channels of the Pro Loco of Lercara Friddi.
