The festival for children and families in Campi Bisenzio to wrap up the summer
In Campi Bisenzio, a bustling town in the Florentine plains of Tuscany, the Settembre Bambina festival takes the baton from the famous Luglio Bambino, offering three days in early autumn entirely designed for children, teenagers, and families. The event takes place in the town's historic center, spanning Piazza Dante, the local theater, the library, the museum, and public gardens, all transformed for the occasion into accessible, open-air stages.
Settembre Bambina was born as an extension of the cultural project Luglio Bambino, a historic festival that reached its 32nd edition in 2026, promoted by the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio. Artistic direction is entrusted to the Fondazione Accademia dei Perseveranti: the same editorial care and attention to children's creative languages that characterize the summer event are found here at the start of September, as schools prepare to reopen and the city celebrates the end of summer with one last festive moment for the youth.
The Settembre Bambina program weaves together various artistic forms. In the afternoon, creative workshops, games, meetings, and interactive readings take place, designed to actively involve children; in the evening, the festival offers theatrical performances suitable for the whole family. Activities are spread across the iconic spots of Campi Bisenzio's center, from gardens to squares, in a spirit of widespread theater and culture that introduces little ones to the performing arts in a natural and joyful way.
Settembre Bambina confirms Campi Bisenzio's dedication to the new generations. Daytime activities for children are free, while a small contribution is requested from adults for evening shows. More than just a calendar of events, the festival is an opportunity for intergenerational connection: parents, grandparents, and children share stories, games, and performances in a festive atmosphere that ideally closes the summer season in the Metropolitan City of Florence.
Located just a few kilometers from the Tuscan capital, Campi Bisenzio is easily accessible from the entire Florentine metropolitan area. Settembre Bambina is part of a rich and continuous cultural calendar, making the town a landmark for children's theater and youth-oriented initiatives in Tuscany, extending the spirit of Luglio Bambino well into September.
The 2026 edition of Settembre Bambina is scheduled from Thursday, September 3 to Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Campi Bisenzio, as the third and final appointment of a season that also includes the two stages of Luglio Bambino. The event, directed by the Fondazione Accademia dei Perseveranti, is inspired by the theme "Imagination! Without borders!".
As per tradition, the squares, gardens, and cultural venues of the town center will host performances, workshops, and multidisciplinary activities dedicated to children and families, with artistic languages accessible to all ages. Activities for children are free, while a contribution of 3 euros is expected from adults for evening shows.
The complete calendar with titles, times, and locations of the shows will be published on the official website lugliobambino.com shortly before the event.
