The Festival of Fojata and Attorta is the festival that every summer brings together the community of Sellano, a village in the Valnerina in the province of Perugia, around the two dishes that tell its gastronomic tradition. Organized by the Pro Loco of Sellano, it takes place in the Civil Protection village in Villamagina, over five evenings of celebration.
Fojata and Attorta, the Symbolic Dishes
The protagonists of the festival are two local specialties. The fojata is a savory pie filled with vegetables, cheese, and eggs, a rustic dish of peasant cuisine. The attorta, on the other hand, is a spiral-shaped dessert, filled with dried fruit, amaretti cookies, cocoa, and cinnamon, typical of local celebrations. Alongside these dishes, the food stalls offer the best of Umbrian cuisine.
Five Evenings of Music and Celebration
Every evening, the festival alternates gastronomy and music: the food stalls open at 7:00 PM, followed by concerts by orchestras at 9:00 PM and DJ sets at 11:00 PM, with themed evenings that liven up the festival village until late at night. An event that combines culinary tradition, dancing, and socializing, in the heart of the Valnerina summer.

For 2026, the Festival of Fojata and Attorta is expected in Sellano in the usual mid-August window, following the recurring pattern of recent editions organized by the Pro Loco. By car: Sellano and the hamlet of Villamagina can be reached from the SS320 of Cascia, in the Valnerina in the province of Perugia. Parking is available near the Civil Protection village.
