The first Italian festival dedicated to music cinema, in Turin
Seeyousound International Music Film Festival is the most important Italian event dedicated to music cinema. Founded in Turin in 2015, it is the first and only festival on the national scene entirely devoted to the relationship between image and sound. Every year, it brings the best international film production exploring music, its icons, its scenes, and its subcultures to the capital of Piedmont. The event takes place in the heart of Turin, with its main hub at Cinema Massimo, and has established itself as a landmark appointment for cinephiles and music lovers alike.
The twelfth edition runs from March 3rd to 8th, 2026, with the mantra "Make Some Noise"—an invitation to reflect on noise as a creative force, an identity-forming language, and the driving engine of musical subcultures. The program gathers 68 cinematic works, including international premieres, world debuts, and titles previously unseen by Italian audiences, complemented by concerts, DJ sets, audiovisual performances, exhibitions, and an artist residency, featuring around 30 international guests.
The competition is divided into several sections covering all formats of musical storytelling:
These are joined by the Torinosette Award, voted on by the audience, and the Best Italian Film Award.
Seeyousound is a distributed festival involving numerous Turin venues beyond Cinema Massimo: Recontemporary, Magazzino sul Po, Visualgrafika/Spazio Miele, the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts, the SMET of the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory, Café des Arts, and the I.I.S. Bodoni Paravia. This network of locations transforms entire areas of the city into a grand stage where screen and live music intersect.
The strength of Seeyousound lies in the interplay between screenings and concerts. The 2026 edition opens on Tuesday, March 3rd, at Cinema Massimo with a special event by Casino Royale and features, among other highlights, the international premiere of Bowie: The Final Act and the world premiere dedicated to Micah P. Hinson, featuring a live performance by the artist. Exhibitions such as Quiet Not Absent and Visioni Soniche complete a journey that makes Turin the Italian capital of music cinema for one week.
The 12th edition of Seeyousound brought Turin to life from March 3rd to 8th, 2026, centered on the theme "Make Some Noise", dedicated to noise as a creative force and the language of musical subcultures. The festival presented 68 works distributed across the competitive sections Long Play Feature, Long Play Doc, 7 Inch, Soundies, and Frequencies, with a total of seven awards.
The Opening Night, Tuesday, March 3rd, at Cinema Massimo, featured a special event by Casino Royale. Among the most anticipated moments were the international premiere of Bowie: The Final Act by Jonathan Stiasny and the world premiere of Micah P. Hinson – The Tomorrow Man, featuring a live performance by the artist, alongside Italian premieres of films about the Butthole Surfers and Herbie Hancock. The closing ceremony on Sunday, March 8th, gathered the award winners from the competitive sections.
