Singer-songwriter music and seafood flavors at the Roman Villa of Realmonte
The Sea and Taste Festival is a traveling summer series that crosses ten municipalities along the south-western coast of Sicily, organized by the GALP Flag Il Sole e l'Azzurro - Tra Selinunte, Sciacca e Vigata with the support of the European Feampa program. The event was created to promote the maritime economy, artisanal fishing, and local gastronomic traditions, intertwining them with great singer-songwriter music, jazz, and storytelling. Each evening takes place in a landmark location of the host town: historic squares, archaeological parks, gardens, and monumental sites become open-air stages.
In Realmonte, in the province of Agrigento, the festival chooses the evocative Villa Romana di Durrueli as its setting, a 1st-century AD archaeological site overlooking the sea and just a few kilometers from the famous Scala dei Turchi. The villa, discovered in 1907 and unearthed through several excavation campaigns, preserves mosaic floors, opus sectile rooms, and a thermal complex: it is not merely a venue, but a place of memory that engages with the evening's music.
The format of the Realmonte stop pairs the evening concert with a moment of local appreciation and the tasting of local seafood, in keeping with the spirit that unites the entire festival: introducing the flavors of the Sicilian sea in a prestigious cultural context. The audience enjoys the show after discovering the seafood products and recipes of the traditional Agrigento coast.
The Realmonte stop is one of the most anticipated moments of the Sea and Taste Festival: the combination of the archaeological charm of the Roman Villa, the proximity to the Scala dei Turchi, and the quality of the musical program makes this evening an experience that blends culture, landscape, and gastronomy. Reservations can be made online on the official GALP website, where the full calendar of other stops along the coast between Selinunte, Sciacca, and Vigata is also published.
The third edition of the Sea and Taste Festival stops in Realmonte on Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 9:00 PM, at the archaeological site of the Villa Romana di Durrueli. The star of the evening is the Palermo-born singer Daria Biancardi with her show Back to Soul, a repertoire that blends gospel, soul, and musical theater, from great international classics to modern vocal writing.
The evening is part of the 2026 traveling schedule promoted by the GALP Flag Il Sole e l'Azzurro in the municipalities of the south-western Sicilian coast, following the inauguration on June 20 with Sergio Cammariere at the Archaeological Park of Selinunte. As with every stop, the concert is preceded by initiatives to promote the sites and the tasting of local seafood.
The concert is one of the stops on the 2026 festival calendar, which includes, among others, Sergio Cammariere (June 20, Selinunte), Giacomo Tantillo Quintet (June 21, Porto Empedocle), Ivan Segreto (July 4, Montallegro), Salvo Piparo (July 17, Siculiana), Francesco Baccini (July 25, Sciacca), and other events distributed until October.
The Villa Romana di Durrueli is located in Realmonte (AG), on Via Nereo, in a coastal position a few kilometers from Agrigento and the Scala dei Turchi. By car, it can be reached from the SS115 in the direction of Porto Empedocle-Realmonte. The nearest train station is in Agrigento, which is connected to the coastal area.
Reservations are mandatory and must be made online on the official website flagsoleazzurro.it. Some festival shows require a symbolic contribution (around 5 euros) for logistical and organizational reasons.
We recommend arriving early to visit the archaeological site and participate in the tasting of local seafood products that precedes the concert. Combine this with a visit to the nearby Scala dei Turchi.
