A motorcycle rally in the heart of Alto Vastese

The Sciccis la Zapp Motorcycle Rally is one of the longest-running and most cherished motorcycling events in the region, hosted every summer in Roccaspinalveti. This village of just over a thousand inhabitants is perched at an altitude of about 740 meters in the Alto Vastese, in the province of Chieti, within the mountainous hinterland of Abruzzo. For twenty years, the event has drawn hundreds of two-wheel enthusiasts who gather in the village streets for a day of motorcycling passion, conviviality, and local tradition.

Organizers

The event is managed by the Motogruppo Api Grandinate, an association of local bikers from Roccaspinalveti who, with dedication and community spirit, carry on a rally that has become a true symbol of the local summer. The group handles hospitality, the route, and the entire organizational machine, in collaboration with local associations in the Municipality of Roccaspinalveti.

The route and the typical day

The heart of the rally is the scenic 60-kilometer ride that winds through the hills and forests of the Chieti hinterland. After morning registration, the motorcycle procession departs from Roccaspinalveti and reaches Schiavi d'Abruzzo, where a stop with refreshments is scheduled, before returning to the village. The day continues with a convivial lunch in the municipal park and concludes with the highly anticipated raffle draw.

An event that has grown over time

Originally created to bring together motorcycle lovers from the district, the rally has transcended local boundaries over the years, attracting riders from all over Abruzzo and the neighboring Molise region. Recent editions have seen significant participation, with over seven hundred attendees, confirming how deeply rooted the event is in the summer calendar of the Vastese territory.
