About schenna e.motion

Based in Scena/Schenna, South Tyrol, schenna e.motion is a three-day gathering dedicated to electric mobility. It is not a timed race, but a guided e-car journey through the most stunning landscapes of South Tyrol. The route features historic vineyards, the legendary Stelvio Pass, the Renon Plateau, and the UNESCO-listed Dolomites, punctuated by gourmet stops at wineries, alpine huts, and traditional farms. Organized by the Tourismusverein Schenna, it perfectly blends nature, local cuisine, and sustainable driving.

An electric car rally in the heart of South Tyrol

schenna e.motion — electric.experience.südtirol is a three-day event held in Scena/Schenna, a charming village above Merano in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (Trentino-South Tyrol). Organized by the Tourismusverein Schenna (the local tourist board), this is not a traditional competition: acceleration and battery range are secondary to the slow, mindful discovery of the region behind the wheel of an electric car.

The concept is simple and original: bringing together electric mobility enthusiasts and the curious for a guided journey through some of South Tyrol's most spectacular scenery. Participants cover daily routes of up to 220 kilometers, with stops specifically chosen to showcase local producers, wineries, alpine huts, and traditional farms.

Three days between alpine passes and the Dolomites

The format alternates between scenic driving and gourmet experiences. One day is dedicated to the Stelvio Pass (2,758 m), one of Europe's most famous alpine roads; another leads into the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, crossing the Renon Plateau and Fiè allo Sciliar. The opening day traverses the southern part of South Tyrol, winding through vineyards and historic estates with cellar tastings.

Along the route, participants engage in fun tests—skill challenges that measure consistency, precision, and driving focus rather than speed: a playful and sustainable way to experience electric vehicles. The evenings, featuring a welcome dinner and a closing awards ceremony, round out the experience with local food and aperitifs.

Sustainable mobility and local culture

schenna e.motion showcases a South Tyrol committed to clean energy. The region is renowned for its hydroelectric production, and the event weaves this aspect into the tourism promotion of Scena/Schenna and its surroundings. It is an appointment designed for those who wish to combine a passion for electric driving with the pleasure of fine dining and alpine landscapes in a relaxed, non-competitive setting.

Who is it for?

  • Electric car owners and enthusiasts
  • Those curious about sustainable mobility who want to test e-cars on alpine roads
  • Lovers of South Tyrolean gastronomy and Dolomite landscapes
  • Couples and small groups looking for an experiential weekend in South Tyrol

The event takes place in early summer and has become a key reference point for experiential and sustainable tourism in the Merano and Scena/Schenna area.
