"Schenna blüht auf / Scena in fiore" is the festival that welcomes the arrival of spring in Scena (Schenna), a charming town nestled on a sunny terrace above Merano, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol. Organized by the Scena Tourist Board (Tourismusverein Schenna), it is not just a single event but a comprehensive umbrella of activities that transforms the village into a stage for nature, culture, and culinary delights from late March to late May.

A season-long calendar

The common thread is the blossoming: from the apple orchards that paint the Merano slopes in shades of white and pink to the aromas of the first seasonal herbs brought to the table. Numerous initiatives revolve around this theme, spread across restaurants, mountain farms, wineries, and the village's two castles, Castel Scena (Schloss Schenna) and Castel Goyen (Schloss Goyen).

• Frisch.Frech.Frühling — the spring culinary weeks: over twenty restaurants, mountain huts, farms, and hotels offer "green" reinterpretations of South Tyrolean classics, featuring seasonal ingredients and local wines.
• Castel Goyen Matinée — a festive morning in the castle courtyard, usually closed to the public, featuring live music, local specialties, and sparkling wine.
• Cause I'm G&T — the South Tyrolean gin festival hosted at Castel Scena, featuring tastings, local distilleries, flair bartending shows, and DJ sets.
• Wein.Klang.Frühling — wine and music weeks: small private wineries open their doors for tastings accompanied by musical performances, ranging from choral singing to more intimate tones.
• Genussradwochen — gourmet cycling weeks, with guided e-bike tours to wineries, farms, and dairies amidst the blooming nature.
• Aperitivo Lungo — at Castel Scena, a panoramic aperitif with South Tyrolean sparkling wine, appetizers, and DJ sets, overlooking Merano.
