About Sauze d'Oulx Carnival

Every year, Carnival brings Sauze d'Oulx, the jewel of the Via Lattea in the upper Susa Valley, to life. A colorful masked parade sets off from Campetto Clotes and winds through the village streets to Piazza III Reggimento Alpini, where the Carnival effigy is symbolically burned. Amidst music, vibrant colors, and entertainment, the local Public Assistance service hands out hot drinks and traditional homemade bugie pastries. A cheerful, free event for all ages, organized by the Fortur Tourist Consortium with the support of the local municipality.

Mountain Carnival in Sauze d'Oulx

At an altitude of over 1,500 meters in the heart of the Via Lattea, the town of Sauze d'Oulx (Metropolitan City of Turin, Piedmont) celebrates Carnival with one of the most anticipated events of the winter season. The Carnival Parade is a popular, festive gathering that turns the streets of this alpine village into a river of masks, colors, and joy, involving residents, tourists, families, and the many children who flock to the resort during the snowy months.

How the parade unfolds

The meeting point is at Campetto Clotes, where the masked procession begins, traveling through the town center to conclude in Piazza III Reggimento Alpini. Here, the most awaited ritual takes place: the symbolic burning of the Carnival, an effigy set aflame to ideally close the festivities and bid farewell to winter.

The refreshment break, featuring hot drinks and typical Carnival sweets, is managed by the Sauze d'Oulx Public Assistance.

The organizers' invitation is simple: dress up and have fun. The event is open to everyone, adults and children alike, and is completely free. For those spending their snow holidays in the upper Susa Valley, it is the perfect opportunity to experience an afternoon of authentic celebration and tradition in one of the most popular resorts in the Via Lattea ski area.
