The Mazara del Vallo car slalom race on Provincial Road 50
The Satiro Slalom – City of Mazara del Vallo is one of the most popular slalom car races in the province of Trapani, Sicily. The event takes place on Provincial Road 50 Salemi-Mazara del Vallo, a 2,500-meter stretch of asphalt made challenging by eleven chicanes that test the technical driving skills of the competitors. The event is organized by Promoter Kinisia, with the patronage of the Municipality of Mazara del Vallo and in collaboration with ACI Sport.
The slalom is valid for the Sicilian Slalom Championship, the Bicilindriche Trophy, and the ACI Sport Cup, attracting racing cars from various classes: from agile two-cylinder cars to more powerful sports prototypes like the Gloria and Radical models that usually dominate the podium. The format includes a reconnaissance run followed by three timed heats: the best time is used to determine the final standings.
The race takes its name from the famous Dancing Satyr (Satiro Danzante), the extraordinary Hellenistic bronze statue recovered in 1998 from the Strait of Sicily and now housed in the Satiro Museum of Mazara del Vallo. It is a tribute to the city's identity and heritage, intertwined with the quintessential Sicilian passion for motorsports.
Numerous fans line the track to follow the drivers' maneuvers heat after heat. The race day, starting in the early morning, is preceded by technical and sporting checks held the previous day in the city center, in Piazza della Repubblica, where the cars are displayed to the public.
The 8th edition of the Satiro Slalom is scheduled for Sunday, March 29, 2026, on Provincial Road 50 between Salemi and Mazara del Vallo. This event recovers the race that was originally set for November 9, 2025, and subsequently postponed to 2026 due to adverse weather conditions.
On the preceding Saturday, from 3:00 PM to 7:30 PM, technical and sporting checks will take place in Piazza della Repubblica. The race starts at 9:00 AM on Sunday with a reconnaissance run followed by three timed heats along the 2,500-meter track marked by eleven chicanes.

Mazara del Vallo can be reached by car via the A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorway. The race takes place along Provincial Road 50 towards Salemi, on the outskirts of the city.
