The flower and plant market that transforms the historic center into an open-air garden
Every year, on a weekend in May, the historic center of Sassuolo is adorned with colors and scents with Sassuolo in Fiore, the flower and plant market that transforms Piazza Garibaldi and the adjacent streets into a true open-air garden. The event, organized by the association Piazze in Fiore with the patronage of the Municipality of Sassuolo and the collaboration of Sassuolo Oltre, is now one of the most anticipated events of spring in the heart of the Modena ceramic district.
Visitors will find a wide selection of national-level exhibitors, chosen with great attention to quality. Among the offerings are nurseries specializing in Tuscan roses, azaleas and rhododendrons, bonsai, succulents, Mediterranean plants such as citrus, olive trees, and bougainvillea, as well as aromatic and ornamental plants. Alongside the flower market, you can discover garden furniture and equipment, pots and containers, selected crafts, and ancient crafts such as wicker weaving and chair caning.
The stroll among the stands is also a journey through flavors, with food and wine offerings and typical specialties from various Italian regions. The event's formula thus combines a passion for greenery, garden care, and the pleasure of discovery, in a welcoming and family-friendly urban setting.
Now in its eighteenth edition in 2026, Sassuolo in Fiore confirms the city's connection with floriculture and the popular traditions of the province of Modena, in Emilia-Romagna. Admission is free and the event is open to all, from gardening enthusiasts to families looking for a pleasant spring stroll.
For its eighteenth edition, Sassuolo in Fiore returned on May 9 and 10, 2026, to the historic center of Sassuolo, once again transforming Piazza Garibaldi and the surrounding streets into an open-air garden. National-level exhibitors presented rare and collectible Tuscan roses, azaleas and rhododendrons, bonsai, succulents, Mediterranean plants, and aromatic plants, as well as garden furniture and equipment. Alongside the flower market, artisans with ancient crafts and food and wine offerings enriched the two-day event.
Flower and plant market spread throughout the historic center: specialized nurseries and producers (roses, azaleas, rhododendrons, bonsai, succulents, Mediterranean and aromatic plants), garden furniture and equipment stands, selected crafts and ancient trades, food and wine offerings. Continuous opening Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
